Careers in esthetics

Estheticians are not pinned down to one specific field. Instead, after you’ve trained as an esthetician, you’ll have the opportunity to work in an applicable field that best suits your lifestyle and career ambitions. These esthetics careers can include:

  • Facialist
  • Electrologist
  • Waxing Specialist
  • Body Treatment Specialist
  • Medi-Spa Esthetician
  • Makeup Artist
  • Bridal Makeup Specialist
  • Permanent Makeup Applicator

Note that many people with an esthetician’s license also have the opportunity to work as cosmetologists, as there is a bit of overlap between the two fields. You can reach out to a Tricoci University team member in Indianapolis to learn which skills, certifications, and connections will best support your career path.

Making your own schedule

You have a lot of responsibilities to attend to on a daily basis. Those responsibilities, however, should not keep you from going back to school. Tricoci University recognizes that its students may have other commitments besides their classes. With that in mind, the university allows its students to take classes in the mornings, afternoons, or evenings. Esthetics classes also open up on a six-week schedule, meaning that you have the opportunity to begin your secondary education whenever you feel the time is right.
Note that attending students can also choose to take classes full-time or part-time. Part-time students in the Esthetics program will complete their education in nine months, whereas full-time students can obtain their licenses within six. Either way, students will have equal opportunities to spend time in the classroom and in the on-campus salon in Indianapolis.

Trade school financial aid

If you’re concerned about how much going back to school may cost, don’t worry. There are several ways to make esthetician training more affordable as you pursue your license. These paths can include:

  • Federal Financial Aid: You don’t have to be a low-income student to qualify for financial aid from the government. Note, though, that you will receive aid on a sliding scale, if it is offered to you.
  • Scholarships: You can apply for merit-based or demographic-based scholarships through Tricoci University or through private organizations to supplement the cost of tuition not covered by federal financial aid or other means.
  • Private loans: Low-interest, private loans from banks or other institutions can give you the boost you need to start making your way through your esthetician’s program.
  • The Tricoci University Tuition Program: Tricoci University allows its students to pay their tuition on a monthly basis. This interest-free tuition program allows students to avoid the stress of a lump-sum payment at the beginning of their semester.
    • Talk to a Tricoci University team member for more about how to apply for these esthetics financial aid options.
