The Norwood Park campus opened in 2005 as the flagship campus for the Tricoci University of Beauty Culture. Found at 5321 North Harlem Avenue, this campus is newly renovated and offers some of the very best programs in the city. With approximately 11,600 square feet of learning space to offer to students, as well as some of the best equipment and resources, this is a school with serious potential for those who are determined to start their new career properly.

Found just east of O’Hare International Airport off of the I-90 and close to both I-294 and I-94, the Norwood Park campus is easy to reach from many parts of the greater Chicago area. Students can also reach us on the CTA blue line or bus line—the campus is just two blocks south of the Harlem Avenue stop.

Redefine the Beauty Industry

Our Cosmetology program is one of the most up-to-date, technically precise, and versatile in the field today. With our help, you can learn the skills needed to become a top-quality hairdresser, colorist, stylist, nail technician, makeup artist, or esthetician. Our courses are also versatile and can be taken on a part or full-time basis.

  • Full Time – (37.5 Hours/Week) 10-12 Months
  • Part Time – (22.5 Hours/Week) 17-20 Months

The Esthetics program at the Norwood Park campus is a top-notch program to pursue studies in esthetics. With a dual focus on scientific theory and practical skills, we give our students both an understanding of the needs of healthy skin and the skills to provide effective treatments and care in a number of ways.

  • Full Time – (37.5 Hours/Week) 5-6 Months
  • Part Time – (22.5 Hours/Week) 9 Months

The Norwood Park campus offers a Barber courses, making this the go-to campus for many students. Our Barber program combines technical skills with business education and an introduction to more artistic disciplines and techniques. Whether you want to be a men’s stylist or a barbershop owner, our course is an important first step.

  • Full Time – (37.5 Hours/Week) 10-12 Months
  • Part Time – (22.5 Hours/Week) 17-20 Months

Federal student aid programs (otherwise called Title IV programs) are available to students who qualify. Consult a TUBC Financial Aid Coordinator for assistance with these programs and options to make Tricoci University as affordable as possible.

Our three-day schedule makes this course a perfect option for those who need to earn while they learn. Whether you want to be a first-time Cosmetology of Esthetics teacher, or a teacher with refined skills, this is the program for you.

By booking at our guest salon or spa, you will not only benefit from these treatments, but you will also be helping our students to hone their craft and further their education.

Tricoci University student salons offer many benefits to both our students and customers, all under supervision. Student salon guests can walk in or call in advance for an appointment.

Beauty History of Chicago NW, IL

Most people don’t realize this, but the hit musical Grease was actually based on the Taft High School in the Norwood Park neighborhood of Chicago. For students who are interested in theatrical hair and makeup, the Gateway Theater of the Copernicus Center in the Jefferson Park neighborhood is a chance to witness cosmetology and hairdressing in action. Attending a show or even volunteering for local production to help actors and actresses to create their characters’ styles while allowing students to build their own skills.

About Chicago NW Beauty School

The Chicago NW Tricoci University campus offers many different educational programs including,, a first-class Cosmetology program, a robust Esthetics course, and one of the best Barbering courses in the city. We also offer a challenging Teacher Training program for those whose true passion is education itself.

Our programs and courses are available on a number of bases, including part-time and full-time schedules. Our full-time cosmetology, esthetics and barbering programs run 37.5 hours per week from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The part-time esthetics and cosmetology courses run from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The student kits provided by the Chicago NW campus are distributed on the first day of class to eligible students and include everything needed to successfully complete the course. These include an Apple iPad for easier on-the-go learning.
