Megatron, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Starscream might be the names of the Transformer monsters seen in this summer’s blockbuster, “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” but they’re also the team names of TUBC Rockford students, currently at WAR! Of course, these Tricoci University Transformers aren’t flipping cars upside-down or knocking skyscrapers into smithereens. Rather, they’re fighting a “School Supply War” with one another to see which of the four teams can collect the most school supply donations for Rockford Public Schools! The entire student body was divided into four Transformer teams with the goal to “transform” their donations into rewards!
From free services to longer lunches, students from the winning Transformer team will be rewarded for the supplies they donate – which will be collected by the Rockford Board of Education after the competition ends August 19.
From traditional school supplies for students, like crayons, notebooks pens and paper, to classroom supplies, like USB drives and storage containers, Tricoci University will make a major difference in the Rockford schools – where many students and GMs have family members as students!
