Each December, photographers, hairstylists and makeup artists all around the world will find people in need, take their picture, print their picture and then deliver it—free of charge from Help-Portrait. This year, Help-Portrait invited families from two local charities, loveinclakecounty.org and teenmotherchoices.org, to get their hair and makeup done, get free professional portraits taken, enjoy a Christmas party, and leave with a framed family photo in hand. We had a great turnout of 35 families (approximately 125 guests) despite inclement weather. About a dozen photographers and 40 more volunteers all chipped in to make this possible!
Help-Portrait is about GIVING the pictures, not taking them. These portraits aren’t for a portfolio, website, or sale. It’s about giving people who otherwise couldn’t afford photography, a chance to capture a moment, a memory…and a whole lot more.
