This past month has personally been the most rewarding time I have spent while attending Tricoci University.  A few weeks ago, my Esthetics class and fellow Cosmetology students had the chance to visit a few salons and day spas in the Chicagoland area.  This was an awesome trip!  It really opened my eyes to the types of places I could envision myself working someday soon.  We first visited the Mario Tricoci Salon and Spa at Oakbrook Shopping Center.  This was by far my favorite spa of the day.  Mr. Mario did an amazing job creating a serene, relaxing, and comforting atmosphere in this location.  The lounge, or waiting room, alone was simply breathtaking!  The spa even had a “quiet room” where clients could go and extend their relaxation time after a great spa service.  Our tour guide even said, at the end of the day, they have to go in and wake up clients who have spent their entire day in this room simply because they were in complete relaxation mode.  This Tricoci spa also had many different rooms that offered a variety of services like facials, body treatments, waxing, and even makeup applications.

We also visited Asha, an Aveda Salon and Spa in Yorktown.  Asha had a very cool and modern environment that offered all organic products by Aveda.  This spa was also on the top of my list of favorites!  With few candles lit, this spa was very dim, giving it a unique touch and sense for a time of rest.  Asha also offered many different services ranging from organic facials to organic body treatments.

After our successful Chicago trip, Tricoci University had the chance to participate in the Ron Santo Walk for Diabetes here in Peoria!  Located at Glen Oak Park, over 5,000 people joined together to help fight this disease; and we were there to help support and bring smiles to the crowds faces!  I joined the Cosmetology students while they offered a Crazy Hair Salon to the walkers.  The Cosmetology students spray painted the guests hair with red, white, blue, and glitter spray paint, did crazy updos, and even put pipe cleaners in their hair!  The crowd loved it!  I was there to help take pictures and promote our school by handing out flyers, coupons, and bringing people over to our booth.  What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

I am now in the home stretch, with this being my last month at Tricoci University.  It has been a wonderful journey and I couldn’t be happier that I made this life changing decision to become an Esthetician.  I would recommend this university to anyone interested in the beauty industry.  I hope you all have enjoyed my blogs these past months.  I’ll keep in touch!
