Our newest beauty school, located in Elgin, is a branch of the Libertyville Campus. Conveniently located off of Randall Road and U.S. Route 20 (Lake Street), approximately 2 miles south of I-90, our beauty school students and guests from the surrounding northwest suburbs (such as Carpentersville, Bartlett, West Dundee, Streamwood, Gilberts and Crystal Lake) find it easily accessible and enjoy its proximity to nearby shops and amenities.

Full-Time 12 Months

Part-Time 20 Months

The most current, technically precise and versatile education available in the cosmetology training field today. Learn to become a Hairdresser, Hair Colorist, Cosmetologist, Stylist, Nail Technician, Make-up Artist, or Esthetician.


Full-Time 6 Months

Our curriculum focuses on creating a secure foundation of the scientific building blocks for skin: its function, properties and needs. Learn to become a Facialist, Waxing Specialist, Body Treatment Specialist, Medi-Spa Esthetician, or Make-up Artist.


Part-Time Day Classes

This 3 day per week schedule allows our students to continue to “earn while they learn” to be a teacher. Learn to become a Cosmetology Teacher, Cosmetology Teacher with Experience*, or Esthetics Teacher.

Beauty History of Elgin, IL

In 1938, Arlene Warner of Elgin, IL was named the “queen of beauty” as she presided over the opening ceremonies of the Elgin Time Observatory at the New York World’s Fair.

The Elgin History Museum frequently highlights the styles of local history. There have been displays of locally worn prom dresses from the 1930s, and there have been pocketwatch exhibitions from the local manufacturer, Elgin National Watch Company.

Over the years, Elgin has been home to several beauty pageant winners. Among them is Miss Illinois 1969 Dulcie Scripture and Miss Illinois 1925 Lucille Burns.

Elgin’s This is it! Hair World has made headlines as a beauty supply store that caters to all ethnicities. Although they’re selling hair products, wigs and hair extensions, shop owner Sandra Annan says they’re actually selling confidence.

Beauty Events in Elgin, IL

There are several local beauty pageants that can give you a first-hand look at the hair, makeup and style of beauty queens. Most notable is the Mrs. Illinois-America Pageant, which is held at the Hemmens Cultural Center.

The Midwest Vintage Clothing, Jewelry & Textile Show in Elgin is an annual event where more than 75 collectors and designers from all around the world showcase an eclectic mix of styles.

Local fashion shows are an exciting way to see runway-ready looks. Events in Elgin include the Women Empowered Fashion Show, Women in Business Fashion Show, Ms. Rainbow Drag Beauty Pageant and more. Plus, fashion events in nearby Chicago include Midwest Fashion Week, Chicago Fashion Week and Latino Fashion Week.


Federal student aid programs (i.e. Title IV) are available for students who qualify. A TUBC Financial Aid Coordinator can assist students with these programs and other financial assistance options to make Tricoci University as affordable as possible.
